After an Accident
A checklist to help you take the next step.
COPLEY AUTO & COLLISION
Start with safety. When the immediate situation is handled, we can discuss your vehicle’s repair needs.
Requests do not confirm an appointment. Our team will discuss availability with you.
YOUR FIRST STEPS
Check for injuries and call 911 for injuries or immediate danger. Follow emergency responders’ instructions. Do not enter traffic to inspect damage or take photos.
Exchange names, contact information, vehicle details and insurance information with the other driver. Note the location, time, and any report number. Photograph damage and the scene only from a safe position.
Report the incident and ask about your policy, claim steps, required documents, and any applicable deductible. Keep the claim number and adjuster’s contact information.
If the vehicle may be unsafe to drive, arrange professional assistance. Call the shop before arranging delivery to confirm receiving and drop-off instructions. An online service request does not dispatch a tow truck.
Send your name, phone number, vehicle year, make and model, a description of the damage, and optional photos. Include the vehicle’s location, whether it can be driven, and insurance details if available.
Photos help start the conversation. They cannot confirm that a vehicle is safe to drive or reveal every repair needed.
After a crash, check the car-seat manufacturer’s instructions and NHTSA’s car-seat replacement guidance.
